The location to Ueno station was a bonus, only 3 minutes walk to the train. The Hotel room was small but I'm only there to sleep so not really an issue. Shower/bathtub was clean and water temperature and pressure was great. The room had aircon, a small fridge and TV, hairdryer and shower products supplied (no need to bring your own). Slippers, toothbrush and paste, a robe and other personal requirements are available at reception as you need them. I was there for 7 nights and had no problem with the room not being cleaned during my stay. I don't live like a pig so didn't need someone in the room everyday cleaning up after me, I appreciated the privacy of knowing no one was going into my room. Having said that, I placed my rubbish and towels outside my room door for pickup and picked up fresh towels and rubbish bags at reception as required. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, their English is great and will help with any questions you may have about your stay. The Hotel was around the corner from a Family Mart convenience store which was really handy for purchasing food, snacks, beer, drinks etc. There is a great place to eat two doors down to the left for Tonkatsu, a great set menu for a good price and a great tasting perfectly cooked pork cutlet, miso soup, rice and accompaniments. The hotel was a 10 min walk to Kappabashi (Kitchen town) known for anything to do with cooking, four good reputable Japanese Knife Shops, a plastic food model shop and everything in between for your kitchen needs. They have items you didn't know you needed for the kitchen until you see them. Fabric town in Nippori is only two stops away on the Yamanote line if you are interested in Japanese fabric and sewing accessories. The location of the Hotel to the Yamanote train line makes for easy travelling to all the popular areas in Tokyo city. It's a block behind the train line so you don't hear any train noise at all.

The hotel is a bit old it made of really sturdy and good materials, it has real wooden flooring, furniture, the bathroom is well planned and even though the space is not big they managed to fit full length bathtube with good shower and top notch toilet, the smartest one we have seen in Japan. The only downside was old ac - when we turned it in to heat, it was not really pleasant smell coming. So we refrained to use it in this way, only to dehumidifier and cooling features. Clean and cozy.

Location - fantastic. Yes, it’s near Ueno station a huge station with dozens of exits but once you find the right exit, it’s literally just across the road. Amenities - although provided in the room, amenities like toothbrushes, bathrobe, towels are free to take from the lobby. Staff - the young man let us check in earlier than 4pm the usual check in time. I was so grateful because I came down with a cold and needed the rest desperately. Wish I got his name to commend him properly :(

A very convenient location within five-minutes reach of JR Ueno station and stations of two metro lines, meaning very easy transit to whatever places in Tokyo and Suburbs and both airports. Quite a few convenient stores around the hotel. The room is not big but big enough for a short stay, and is clean. Rooms at upper floors can see SkyTree. Although there is no room services and housekeeping, I can get clean towels and bath mat everyday at reception. The staff can speak English.

Small room (this is Tokyo) but layout was very neat and efficient. It was super clean and there was even a bathtub! Washing machine and dryer available on 2nd floor. No cleaning for consecutive days but can get clean towels/bath mat for free at the reception. We stayed 4 nights. Location is super convenient. Staff was friendly and check in/out super efficient. Overall would recommend. Bed super comfy as well.
